My boyfriend and I have been together since February 2023. I met his parents in August 2023. He has already warned me that his parents will insist on the ‘you’. I thought it was a joke and waited for the first personal contact.
Normally I can win people over quickly. But it wasn’t like that!
By the way: his sister’s boyfriend is with one parent, but not the other.
I experience it as contempt and am somewhere between acceptance and rebellion.
