When the “Six Seasons And A Movie” fan campaign was launched during the second season of the hit sitcom “Community,” no one would have seriously believed that it would actually pay off years later. After the series about a group of adults who graduate from a community college and come together in a study group ended in 2015 after six seasons, the good news was announced in 2022 that ‘Community – The Movie’ is still coming – and that most of the main cast will be present are.
But there was little news after that, and while the film was initially expected to be released in 2023, the Hollywood strikes recently put an end to the project. Now, however, another line of light appears on the horizon, because Troy Barnes is an actor Donald Glover gave an encouraging update.
Donald Glover is looking forward to ‘Community – The Movie’
The actor explains this in an interview with that the script for the ‘Community’ film would finally be ready: “Today I was told that the script is ready.” And while he hasn’t had a look inside yet, he has no doubts he’ll be in the movie: “It depends on the schedule, but I’ll be there. I participate.”
Donald Glover will reunite with his former co-stars Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Jim Rash and Ken Joeng in front of the camera in the film, while original series creator Dan Harmon will also return for the film . Joel McHale and Andrew Guest will also serve as executive producers. Chevy Chase, who left the series in 2012 after disagreements with Dan Harmon, will not be part of the project.
Filming for “Community – The Movie” could finally begin this year with a completed script. It is not yet clear when we will finally see the film. The comedy will premiere in the US on the streaming platform Peacock. Where we meet Glover and Co. will see again in Germany is not yet known.
