It’s been over five years since Netflix announced it would be making a live-action adaptation of the critically acclaimed animated series ‘Avatar – The Lord of the Elements’, which has left many fans of the original curious and skeptical ever since. facing the other side. Now the time has come. And despite some production setbacks, we’re confident that the new interpretation of the fantasy adventure will at least hold its own against M. Night Shyamalan’s much-maligned 2010 film adaptation.
‘Avatar’ is by far the biggest new Netflix release that awaits us next month. Animation fans should also take note of ‘Orion and the Dark’, not least because the script comes from Oscar winner and Hollywood eccentric Charlie Kaufman (‘Forget Me Not’, ‘Being John Malkovich’). Additionally, the 2019 sci-fi surprise hit “Code 8” finally gets its long-awaited sequel with “Code 8 – Part II.”

In the meantime, if you prefer something romantic, you can pick up the new RomCom ‘Players’ just in time for Valentine’s Day, the first film with Tom Ellis after the end of his series hit ‘Lucifer’. The ex-devil can be seen here as a charming war correspondent with whom main character Mack (Gina Rodriguez) falls head over heels in love, even though she and her pickup friends had actually decided not to enter into serious relationships.
And when it comes to licensed titles, Netflix subscribers will once again benefit from a deal between the streaming provider and Sony in February, which will see the studio’s films hit the online platform very quickly. This time, the surprisingly successful adaptation of the classic racing game “Gran Turismo” arrives on Netflix just six months after its theatrical release. In line with this, there is also the Sony video game adaptation “Uncharted” at the top. Series fans can look forward to the sixth season of ‘Outlander’, which has been waiting on Netflix for almost three (!) years.
