Cool gangsters and British humor await in the star-studded trailer for Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Gentlemen’ series on Netflix

In 2020, Guy Ritchie brought his heart project ‘The Gentlemen’ to the big screen, directing the likes of Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam and Hugh Grant as super-cool gangsters. He initially saw the story about drug lord Mickey Pearson as a series, but eventually adapted the material into a two-hour film. However, the cult director could not completely let go of the idea of a serial story and so almost four years later a new adaptation is in the starting blocks on Netflix.

The first trailer for “The gentlementakes us once again into the world of the British aristocracy, which is closely intertwined with the London criminal underworld. Instead of the all-star cast of McConaughey, Hunnamm and Grant, Ritchie brings together a younger generation of actors, led by “The White Lotus” star Theo James and Kaya Scodelario (“Pirates of the Caribbean 5”).

This is “The Gentlemen”

Theo James plays the young Eddie Horniman, who inherits his father’s aristocratic estate after his father’s death. He soon realizes that there is more to it than meets the eye: his share in a huge cannabis empire. In short, Eddie is besieged by numerous figures from the British underworld who want a piece of the pie.

Firstly, career gangster Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone) and his daughter Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) are heavily involved in the marijuana trade. Instead of giving in to intimidation, Horniman tries to fool the gangsters at their own game. Once he tastes blood, he slides deeper and deeper into crime.
