Season 2 of the Netflix megahit ‘Dahmer’ gets reinforcements: ‘Bond’ villain and scandal actress join the cast

With ‘Dahmer – Monster: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer’, ‘American Horror Story’ creator Ryan Murphy has made an absolute hit on Netflix. In the streaming giant’s list of most watched series, the first season of the true crime series is currently in fourth place. Only ‘Wednesday’, ‘Squid Game’ and ‘Stranger Things’ could beat the series in terms of viewing hours.

It has been clear for some time that the series will continue – albeit without Jeffrey Dahmer, of course. Instead, brothers Lyle and Erik Menéndez will now be at the center of the plot, which will be directed by Kuiper Koch (“Swallowed”) and Nicholas Alexander Chavez (“General Hospital”). The brother duo murdered their parents together in 1989. After her arrest in 1990, sensational trials followed that were even broadcast on television. It was not until 1996 that he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Now for “Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez“Two notable new additions confirmed: Javier Bardem And Chloe Sevigny will take on the role of the parents who were brutally murdered by their sons in the late 1980s.

A Pirates of the Caribbean villain and a Scandal actress

Javier Bardem, who won an Oscar for his role as psychopathic serial killer Anton Chigurh in the Coen brothers’ neo-western ‘No Country For Old Men’, may be remembered by a wider audience for his villainous role in ‘James Bond 007 : Heavenfall”. He also made life difficult for Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge”. In the Netflix series ‘Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story’ the actor will now appear for the first time take on a major role in an American series production.

Chloë Sevigny stars alongside him, who celebrated her breakthrough with the controversial 90s cult film ‘Kids’ by Larry Clark and ‘Gummo’ by Harmony Korine. The actress caused a real scandal in 2003 with ‘The Brown Bunny’ because she performed frank and excessive oral sex with fellow actor (and her then-partner) Vincent Gallo on camera for the film, which took place at the Cannes premiere. Film festival led to angry reactions from the audience.

It is currently unknown when season 2 “Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story” will release on Netflix. In the first teaser, which we have included for you below, we only reveal that the sequel will be available from the streaming giant in 2024.
