The first season of “Wednesday” alone was viewed more than 252 million times in the 91 days after it began. The second most successful season of the English-language series is ‘Stranger Things: Season 4’, which lags far behind with 140 million views. Of all Netflix content, only “Squid Game” has reached more people than the quirky teen fantasy detective story starring Jenna Ortega, with more than 265 million views in its first three months.
So it makes perfect sense that Netflix wants more of “Wednesday.” A second season is already in the works. But like the news magazine reported, this is certainly not the end of the road. In a report on a new franchise strategy, which will allow the streaming service to focus more on established brands and more on sequels and spin-offs, bigger plans for ‘Wednesday’ are also briefly discussed.
A spin-off about Uncle Fester
How reported, Discussions are already underway in the background to launch a spin-off about Uncle Fester. At first glance that may sound quite strange as the character is a far cry from the morbid teenage world of the original series. But Fred Armisen’s portrayal of Fester thrilled many fans. So you also have to give a spin-off a chance.
‘Wednesday’ also became so successful because the series was not only watched in a bubble, but quickly left its status as a teen series and was well received by a wide variety of audiences. Moreover, in a spin-off you have to not only rely on Fester, but also involve the other Addams Family – and certainly try everything to get ‘Wednesday Addams’ Jenna Ortega to come along alone.

It is not yet certain that Fester’s spin-off will actually happen. According to that -Report So far, it is only Netflix’s wish that such a series be made. To make it appear, there are a few more steps you need to take. Those responsible for ‘Wednesday’ must first come up with a story for a Fester series and of course contracts must be concluded with the necessary participants.
But you probably don’t need a crystal ball to predict that after the mega success of ‘Wednesday“We will see much more of this world.
