No one really expected this, but ‘The Bear’ has become one of the absolute series highlights of recent years. Not only the critics are enthusiastic about the dramatic cooking series, but also the audience. Moreover, the second season of the series has high expectations of winning both the Golden Globes (five nominations) and the Primetime Emmys (six nominations) next year.

However, one person cannot agree with all the praise: British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. He was recently a guest on the Graham Norton Show (via ) and was also asked about “The Bear”. Anyone who thought Oliver wouldn’t be able to stop talking about it was wrong: “I know it’s brilliant. Everyone keeps telling me how brilliant it is. But I saw the first two episodes and thought, “He can’t hack!” They just stopped doing it.”
But that’s not all, because Jamie Oliver is not only bothered by Jeremy Allen White and Co. apparently not being able to handle a knife well: “They often have extras in the background who are actors, not chefs. They don’t even have text. But they go about everything wrong and mix everything up. Yes, it kills me.”
From the perspective of Jamie Oliver, who has spent more than half his life in the kitchen, these are certainly valid and understandable points. However, these are details that only stand out if you are really an expert. Therefore, Jamie Oliver’s criticism must be properly classified. He also says that it is completely clear to him how good the series actually is.
