The blue fast hedgehog Sonic has developed from a design disaster to a real gold mine. Part 2 grossed over $405 million worldwide. A remarkable result, especially since the world was still in the post-Corona shock and cinema operations had to slowly get back on track.

It was therefore no surprise that a sequel was quickly decided on. And those who stayed put after the second part were rewarded with an after-credits scene in which Shadow was announced as the new opponent for ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 3’.

But of course, post-credit scenes aren’t always a guarantee that what’s shown will actually be performed. The first photo from “Sonic The Hedgehog 3,” which now belongs to the director Jeff Fowler was released, should provide fans with definitive certainty. Here you see the lower part of the annoying hedgehog Shadow and his stylish shoes in front of a clapperboard from “Sonic 3”. We’ve embedded the image here for you:

This is Shadow

Shadow is an artificial life form created by Professor Robotnik. Although he looks very similar to Sonic, the two hedgehogs are significantly different from each other. In a way, he’s anti-sonic and should make the animal group of heroes sweat a lot.

Pat Casey, who co-wrote the scripts for the first two “Sonic” films and will once again direct the plot in the latest installment, told me (through ) already talked about Shadow and his role in the Sonic universe:

Shadow also has considerably more to offer than Knuckles, after all he has to make up for the loss of Jim Carrey in ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 3’. Previously, Dr. Robotnik embodies the nemesis of the raging hero, but the actor has now announced that he is retiring – and will therefore no longer be seen in front of the camera as the mad inventor Robotnik.

“Sonic The Hedgehog 3” will hit German cinemas on December 19, 2024.
