You can’t get more cult than that! One of the most legendary action series ever appears on Blu-ray

Many Michael Knight and KITT fans have probably been waiting for this! Because even though ‘Knight Rider’ celebrated its HD premiere a year ago, the 23 Blu-rays were all-encompassing 40th anniversary edition* probably only something for die-hard fans of the cult series. In the end the set cost no less than 200 euros.

But even though distributor Turbine is known for bringing collector’s editions to the market with a top price-performance ratio – the quality is always just right! – this price is already a house number. “I would buy the box for a Hunni,” was something that could be read again and again here and there. And if you also belong to that faction, we have good news for you: Because “Knight Rider” will be released as a special edition on Blu-ray on November 23, 2023 – for only 99.95 euros!

While you still get the anniversary edition, which is limited to 3,939 pieces, for the first time there is a cheap alternative to the exclusive collectible. The content has been slimmed down a bit, but the new edition also includes all four seasons of the TV classic with David Hasselhoff – unabridged and fully synchronized. There is also a bonus disc with over four hours of extras.

If you have the spare change, the 40th Anniversary Edition can also get you exclusive gimmicks like replicas, art cards, and a poster. The 200 euro edition also includes the TV films “Knight Rider 2000” and “Knight Rider 2010” and the series “Team Knight Rider”.

“Knight Rider”: over 60 (!) hours of cult TV

The series ran for four seasons between 1982 and 1986 with a total of 90 episodes, conquered German television audiences from 1985 and developed into one of the ultimate action classics, alongside ‘The A-Team’, ‘Miami Vice’ and ‘MacGyver’. TV show from the 80s. Over the years there have been numerous spin-offs and attempts to revive the cult, but none have been able to match the success of the original. That is precisely why the new Blu-ray box is perfect for anyone who is only interested in the series with David Hasselhoff.

And thanks to Turbine, it’s available in the best version of all time. Because with the Blu-ray “Knight Rider” not only shines with optimized image and sound quality. For the first time, the series appeared completely unabridged in the German-language version. The absolute icing on the cake of an excellent collection – because even many lovers of original sound, like the author of this article, probably still enjoy such cult formats, which walked up and down the local television program, during dubbing.

Based on an idea by Glen A. Larson, ‘Knight Rider’ tells the story of Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) and his wonder car KITT, who fight for justice on behalf of the so-called Foundation. Armed with permanents and artificial intelligence, they take out a lot of nasty villains – and get support from Foundation boss Devon Miles (Edward Mulhare), computer experts Bonnie Barstow (Patricia McPherson) and April Curtis (Rebecca Holden), as well as Bleifuß RC III (Peter Parros).
