Nairobi crowned the best travel city in the world: this is what the capital of Kenya has to offer

Nairobi was named the best travel city in the world by Lonely Planet. Watson has listed what there is to see in the Kenyan capital and what else you need to know about a trip to Nairobi.

Like every year, the travel brand ‘Lonely Planet’ has chosen the best travel destinations in the world. Nairobi takes first place among cities: Kenya’s capital “finally claims its status as a global cultural center,” announces “Lonely Planet.” There is a dynamic offering in the gastronomic scene, as well as numerous art and cultural events that are constantly changing.

The Nairobi National Museum has collections and exhibitions about the culture and history of East Africa. Nairobi may be the best travel destination for 2024 according to Lonely Planet, but there are still a few things to consider before visiting the city. According to the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs (EDA), there are major political and social tensions in Kenya, which could result at any time in “demonstrations, roadblocks or outbreaks of violence”. There is a high risk of violent clashes and a risk of terrorist acts.

Widespread violent crime poses the greatest risk, especially to solo travelers. Thefts are often committed by people in police uniforms.
