New team for the ‘Daredevil’ series: Marvel experience should now be the solution

New team for the ‘Daredevil’ series: Marvel experience should now be the solution

The strikes in Hollywood forced numerous productions to pause. Sometimes something like that is an opportunity. After an intensive review of the material shot so far for the ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ series, Marvel realized it wasn’t going in the direction they expected. That is why it was decided to make a radical change. Those previously responsible were fired. Of the material recorded so far, only some episodes and other scenes remain.

But it was clear that new creative people were needed for the adventures of blind lawyer Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), who, in addition to his work in court as a masked avenger, protects his New York neighborhood. These have now been found.

Director of ‘Loki’ and writer of ‘The Punisher’

Again First reported, Marvel resorted to old acquaintances. Dario Scardapane will lead “Daredevil: Born Again” as the new showrunner. The author must also write new episodes and scenes inserting material that has already been filmed. Scardapane was previously involved in the Netflix-Marvel series ‘The Punisher’. He wrote several episodes for this and was also executive producer. He was also involved in Amazon’s ‘Jack Ryan’ and the very short-lived thriller series ‘State Of Affairs’. He also wrote the script for the Liam Neeson starrer “Memory – His Last Order”.

Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are now directing the new episodes. The directors working in the duo are best known for their strange indie sci-fi and horror films such as ‘Something in the Dirt’, ‘Synchronic’ and ‘The Endless’. But they also already have Marvel experience. After working on “Moon Knight,” where they directed individual episodes, they starred in the current second season of “Loki” and also directed two episodes themselves.

If “Daredevil: Born Againwill come to Disney+ as originally planned in the course of 2024, certainly depends on when the new people in charge can get started. The actors’ strike is still raging in Hollywood. Then it also depends on how many shots need to be fired again. It is unknown how many episodes will be made under the new management.
