On October 27, Swift became the most streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history. In addition, their new album “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” has become the most streamed album in a single day this year, Spotify reports.
Swift thus surpassed her record from 2022. According to Spotify, her album ‘Midnights’ was streamed more times within a day in October last year than any previous album. The singer also became the most streamed artist within a day.
“1989 (Taylor’s Version),” a re-recording of Swift’s 2014 album “1989,” was released Friday. After a dispute over the music rights to her previous albums, Swift announced in 2019 that she wanted to re-record her old music as “Taylor’s Version”. Since then, she has released the albums “Fearless” (2009, 2021), “Red” (2012, 2021) and “Speak Now” (2010, 2023).
The reissues usually contain several so-called ‘From The Vault’ songs that did not make it onto the original album. In addition to the 13 original songs, “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” contains five previously unreleased songs. (lacquer/sda/dpa)
