The sequel to one of the biggest critics and audience favorites of recent years finally has a launch date

It’s been clear for a while that “Paddington 2” should continue – and after a while of radio silence, things have really started moving in recent months. After the promising cast was only introduced in June 2023, it is now known when the bearish adventure sequel will come to cinemas: “Paddington 3” aka “Paddington in Peru“ is expected to hit US theaters on January 17, 2025. It is currently unclear when the film will be released in cinemas in this country. However, it remains to be hoped that the German release date will be close to the American release.

Fans of the orange marmalade gourmet will have to wait another year before they see the cute bear in the blue raincoat again. And after the fantastic second part, there’s no doubt that audiences and critics alike will want to see Paddington again. On the summary collection page ‘Paddington 2’ scores an almost perfect score with 99 (!) percent positive reviews (out of a total of 252 recorded reviews) and at least since ‘Massive Talent’ we know that even Hollywood superstar Nicolas Cage loves the film.

By the way, fans of the series should be prepared for a significant change in the cast of “Paddington in Peru”. This should no longer be the case Sally Hawkins (“Shape Of Water”) not only supports the furry adventurer like Mrs. Brown, but also those known from “Hugo Cabret”, “Shutter Island” and “Mary Poppins’ Return”. There are also some well-known newcomers: ‘Snow White’ lead actress Rachel Zegler, Hollywood veteran Antonio Banderas (‘Desperado’) and Oscar winner Olivia Colman (‘The Favourite’) can be seen in ‘Paddington 3’. And there will also be a change in the director’s chair: Paul King (“Space Force”) will no longer direct the latest part of the popular family adventure. In his place, Dougal Wilson will now wield the director’s scepter. Wilson previously made a name for himself as a director of music videos and short films.
