At the same time, the Swiss Folk Music Society (VSV) celebrated its 60th anniversary. The festival took place in Ticino for the first time. It was a huge success, with 35,000 visitors in particular on Saturday, organizers announced in their final statement on Sunday.
Almost the same number of people followed the parade held in the canton’s capital on Sunday. Member of the Federal Assembly of Ticino and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis did not miss Sunday’s visit. He took activity on X, formerly Twitter, as a sign of Swiss diversity.
All performances at the folk music festival were free. The first two days of the festival were cold and rainy. Organizers said visitors would be compensated on Saturday and Sunday. VSV President Ralph Janser spoke of one success.
