Comedian, presenter and actor Russell Brand is alleged to have sexually abused and emotionally abused several women. This was reported on Saturday after a joint investigation by the British media ‘The Sunday Times’, ‘The Times’ and Channel 4 Dispatches.
The accusations were made by four women. They report sexual assaults between 2006 and 2013. One of the women said Brand raped her in his Los Angeles home. Another said she was sexually abused by him during a three-month relationship when she was just 16 and still in school.
During this time, Brand had roles in Hollywood films and jobs at BBC Radio 2 and TV channel Channel 4. Brand denies the allegations and says his relationships have “always been consensual”.
Brand, who was married to American pop star Katy Perry until 2011, had already published a video on Friday evening in which he denied the “serious criminal allegations” against him.
