“Venom 3” Hit: Is There a Wild Multiverse Crossover?

As is known, Tom Hardy is not the first Venom in cinema. Even before she took on the title role in ‘Venom,’ ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ and now the upcoming ‘Venom 3,’ Topher Grace starred in Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man 3’ in 2007 as journalist Eddie Brock, acquired by seeing an alien symbiote. The Multiverse has caused fans to speculate a lot about such encounters in the recent past. Did Sony accidentally give away the multiverse crossover?

But fans aren’t just wildly speculating about the possibilities at the moment, they’ve also been given a concrete reason. A video was released on Sony UK’s official TikTok channel showing the versions of Eddie Brock/Venon, played by Tom Hardy and Topher Grace, interacting. However, there were no new scenes, but rather a clever, fun compilation of material from the old films.

Nevertheless, fans immediately took it as an opportunity to assume that Sony was teasing a clash between the Venom versions. The fact that the studio immediately removed the video fueled the speculation instead of shutting it down.

What’s behind the rumor?

Whether this will actually happen remains to be seen with skepticism. We don’t believe the video was an (un)planned reveal, or an (un)intentional teaser. The social media team was probably just having fun (there have been other funny crossover videos on the TikTok channel in the past) and then was surprised by the reactions themselves.

But of course, given the current multiverse hype, it’s still conceivable that “Venom 3” will be involved as well. So far, lead actor Tom Hardy is working with the director Kelly Neville The developed story is still kept completely secret. Even about the cast, all that is known so far is that “Ted Lasso” star Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor of “Doctor Strange” fame are involved alongside Hardy. Their roles are still under wraps, although Ejiofor would have to play a new character and not take on his old MCU role, which he last played in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”

Filming is currently on pause due to the current Hollywood strikes. Or the theatrical release of “Poison 3“ can be enforced is therefore questionable.
