The MCU villain finally returns – more than six years after his almost forgotten appearance

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” pitted the title hero, played by Tom Holland in his first solo adventure, against Michael Keaton as the Vulture. But a certain Mac Gargan (Michael Mando), who acted as a buyer of dangerous alien weapons, also played a supporting role. Mac Gargan reappeared in the first credit scene. The villain, who is now in prison, revealed that he has some friends who want revenge on Spidey.

With a clearly visible scorpion tattoo, it was already indicated that he was the famous Spider-Man villain Scorpion – especially since MacDonald “Mac” Gargan is also his comic alter ego. Many fans also interpreted the end credits scene as a reference to the legendary villain group Sinister Six, to which Scorpion belongs.

However: After more than six years and two more Spidey appearances, this end credits scene was never used. But that could soon change.

Scorpio probably in “Spider-Man 4”

The Scooper reported on the short message service (long known as Twitter) that Scorpion is returning. He doesn’t give any further details yet, but we can imagine…

A fourth solo adventure with Tom Holland has already been confirmed. Rumors have been going around for a while that we will see Scorpion in his comic costume for the first time in ‘Spider-Man 4’. During his performance, he will likely continue to seek revenge. The fact that he hasn’t been heard from for so many years (even more time has passed in the MCU itself than in reality) can be explained very simply: he’s just been in prison until now.

But we’ll have to wait a little longer until “Spider-Man 4” comes out. The aforementioned strikes brought the project to a standstill. Tom Holland is also currently taking a short break. “Spider-Man 4” is unlikely to hit theaters before 2025, possibly even 2026.
