The university cinema continued to operate

The university cinema, located in the central campus of the University of Panama, has resumed operations after the suspension of the exhibition Cine Queer de Panamá y el Mundo due to “force majeure”.

The “Queer Film” exhibition, jointly organized by the Association of New Men and Women of Panama (AHMNP) and the Salva El Grillo Artistic Group (SEG), was supposed to be shown from August 28 to September 1, but due to suspensions, the room was closed.

During that week, according to the press release, they worked on conditioning and technical adjustments to the order in the room of alternative cinema.

Finally, earlier this week, on September 4th, the room was back up and running functioning with sample from cult films with 15 titles on the schedule in three cycles (3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.).

It was shown on the first day “I’m looking for my destiny”, “Movement” and one “Eve and two Adams”Three films are shown daily, one for everyone function and the rest of the week, September 8, there’s plenty more to see.

For this Wednesday, it will be in board “Chinatown” (3:00 p.m.), “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” (5:00 p.m.) and “Shadow of Evil” (7:00 p.m.), later, on Thursday the 7th, titles like “Phenomenon” (3:00 p.m.), “Barbarella” (5:15 p.m.) and “Los pájaros” (7:00 p.m.).

At the end of the exhibition, “El fantasma del paraíso” (3:00 p.m.), “Harakiri” (5:00 p.m.) and “The Cursed Lieutenant” (7:00 p.m.) are the films that will be shown on the last day of programming.

It is worth mentioning that the program is subject to change, and you can view the notice board at @cineuniversitarioupon Instagram, and access to the room is free and open with a capacity of 150 people.

After resuming activity in the cinema, the question arises as to when the sample will be taken “Queer Cinema”.
