To summarize, as it still feels like summer anyway: Autumn is approaching and with it one of the most appealing times to experience the Swiss Alps in all their glory. Majestic mountains, fresh air and a wide variety of activities make Saas-Fee and Saas Valley the perfect destination to escape from everyday life and enjoy nature in all its colorful aspects.

Whether it’s more about hiking, cycling or climbing (or whatever), Saas-Fee/Saastal offers a variety of leisure activities to make your autumn holidays unforgettable.

Walk: The endless hiking trails around Saas-Fee wind through breathtaking landscapes and offer views of the region’s 18 four-thousand valleys and picturesque valleys. Experienced or not, here you will find routes for every taste and every fitness level. Hint: Gsponer Höhenweg on the eastern flank of the Saas Valley.

Bicycle: The mountain roads of the Saas Valley present a challenge for mountain bikers of all levels. Mattmark reservoir: This impressive lake at the end of the Saas Valley offers the perfect setting for a few relaxing hours by the water. Enjoy the tranquility and see how fall colors and rugged rocks are reflected in the crystal clear reservoir. The reservoir can be reached by bus or on foot.

Viewpoints Plattjen and Kreuzboden: The view from these viewpoints always brings some excitement with it. Saas-Fee (from Plattjen) or the entire Saas Valley (from Kreuzboden), the panorama over the surrounding glaciers and mountains shows the beauty of nature in its purest form. Both places can be easily reached by mountain railways until October 22.

But sometimes love goes through the stomach. Nostalgic Pleasure Trail takes place on September 10 in Saas-Fee. in its place. A culinary journey into the past, meals and drinks from the past are offered by suitably dressed hoteliers and restaurateurs on Dorfstrasse. A month later, from October 11-14, the autumn festival continues with games, entertainment and activities for young and old. Traveling with SBB to both events is CHF 25 off.
