Amazon’s cheapest Fire TV with 4K is available for Prime Day for less than 300 euros

The Fire TV’s clear strength lies in streaming. Amazon has already done a great job with the Fire TV Sticks and the Fire TV Cube and now offers that with the Fire TVs the whole for anyone who wants to start streaming as easily as possible or is looking for a smart second television.

The 50-inch version is around as part of the early Prime Day deals reduced by 45 percent and costs only 329.99 euros. The smaller model with 43 inches* lies with 44 percent off for 279.99 euros. Offers are exclusive to Prime members. If you’re not already a Prime member, you can free 30 day trial membership* to conclude.

Fire TV 4: Is the mid-range Fire TV worth it?

In the Fire TV lineup, the Fire TV 4 sits between the smaller Fire TV 2 and the larger Fire TV Omni. Unlike its little siblings, the Fire TV 4 uses a 4K display at 60 Hz.HDR formats support HDR10 and HLG.

A little tip on this point: Many tests have complained that the Fire TV 4 is set very dark from the factory. Here it is worth changing the picture mode depending on your preference. There is nothing to complain about the connections. All major options are available here. The only thing you won’t find is a headphone output. In any case, external devices can be connected via Bluetooth.

The Fire TV 4 shows its strengths in streaming mode. Amazon’s well-known smart TV menu convinces with its support all popular streaming apps. Your orders are fulfilled quickly. You just need to be patient when changing channels, this process takes about four seconds. You can also control the Fire TV 4 via Alexa by pressing a button on the remote. In addition, Amazon’s 4K television works if desired as the center for your smart home.

A shortcoming of the Fire TV 4 is the low maximum brightness. According to Amazon, this is 300 candelas per square meter (cd/m²). For guidance, to render bright flashing effects such as muzzle flashes in full HDR splendor, about 500 cd/m² would be desirable. But especially with these HDR effects, the lack of brightness is striking. In normal use, the lack of brightness only becomes a problem in daylight.

Amazon Omni TV as an alternative to the Fire TV 4

If you want more, the Amazon Fire TV Omni is a good choice. The flagship of the model range currently costs between 599.99 euros (43 inches*) and 999.99 euros (65 inches*).

It’s highly likely that the Omni series will also be scaled down soon – no later than Prime Day. Here you not only get 4K resolution, but also the HDR formats alongside the Fire TV 4 series Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ and HDR10+ Adaptive.

Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive dynamically adjust HDR effects to suit your home theater lighting conditions. The Omni TV also features a 60Hz QLED display, full array local dimming and one-touch Alexa voice control.
