Farewell to Oscar-winning actor Alan Arkin

American actor Alan Arkin, winner of the Hollywood Academy Oscar for his role in the film “Little Miss Sunshine”, died at the age of 89, his children confirmed on Friday.

In a statement distributed to local media, his children confirmed that he died this week in California.

“Our father was a uniquely talented force of nature, both as an artist and as a man,” reads the text published by NBC News.

“Dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfatherhe was loved and will be greatly missed.”

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Arkin got his start in show business with a Broadway play and his first theatrical debut. the film was shot in 1966 role in the film “The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming” for which he was nominated for the Oscar for best actor and also for the Golden Globe.

Your role in “The heart is a lonely hunter” from 1968 brought him another nomination.

However, it was only in 2006 that he raised the statuette with the ribbon “Little Miss Sunshine” in which he plays the grandfather of the main girl, Olive (Abigail Breslin).

He is the father of actors Adam Arkin Anthony Arkin and Matthew Arkin.
