After “Avengers 4: Endgame”: When are “Avengers 5” and “Avengers 6” coming and what next?

What’s next for the Avengers and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after Avengers: Endgame? On June 11, 2023 at 8:15 PM ProSieben will show “Avengers: Endgame” againso this question is currently being asked again.

But unlike the April 2019 theatrical release or the TV broadcasts of the past, there is now a clear answer:Avengers 5: The Kang Dynasty‘ starts on April 30, 2025 and ‘Avengers 6: Secret Warson April 29, 2026. And the titles already give an idea of the plot of these two Marvel blockbusters:

“Avengers 5: The Kang Dynasty”

The name “Kang” should not only be familiar to comic book fans, but also to anyone who has seen “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania”. In the Marvel movie that started in early 2023 and is now available on Disney+ has villain Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) namely his grand entrance – only until then (Warning, spoilers!) to immediately disappear from the scene.

As the film’s subsequent credits reveal, Kang’s threat is far from over. Because there are also versions of Kang in all the parallel worlds of the Marvel Multiverse. Led by Immortus, Rama-Tut, and Centurion (all also played by Jonathan Majors), the Kangs apparently want to join forces to form the eponymous Kang dynastyto prevent the Avengers from further exploring the multiverse.

Meanwhile, the second credits scene of Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania reveals another Kang variant named Victor Timely, who will then play a (major?) role in season two’s Loki. The new episodes will be available on Disney+ from October 6, 2023.

At this point, however, we must touch briefly on Jonathan Majors’ staff, which is not entirely unimportant for future plans: the actor is currently facing allegations of abuse and has therefore already appeared in court. Until the blame issue is resolved, those plans will remain a question mark, as it’s unclear how Kang will move forward once Marvel moves away from the majors.

“Avengers 6: Secret Wars”

One can also speculate well-founded about the plot of “Secret Wars”, after all, there is a comic book template with the same title (even though the MCU will probably deviate from it as usual). In any case, the “Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness‘ and ‘Quantumania’ already mentioned ‘raids’.

Incursions are cataclysmic events in which two parallel universes of the multiverse collide and at least one of them has been destroyed. These events are caused by travels in the multiverse. At the end of Doctor Strange 2, the title character learns from the sudden appearance of Clea (Charlize Theron) that his multiversal adventures have sparked a raid.

In the Secret Wars comic book, the Avengers desperately try to stop the Incursions – and ultimately fail. It remains to be seen if this will also be the case in the MCU. But at least you could build on the proven structure of “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame”. This is, of course, pure speculation at this point.

It also remains to be seen if Kang will pull the strings as the villain in “Avengers: Secret Wars”. In the comics, the mighty Beyonders are behind the raids, who are in turn outsmarted by “Fantastic Four” villain Doctor Doom. This roll can also go to one of the Kangs or the entire Kang Council.
