Pop singer Michael Wendler has been living in his adopted home in Florida since his public outbursts, swearing and hate speech against the federal government. His behavior in recent years has been widely criticized, his career in Germany is considered a failure.
Still, he attempted a comeback in March. RTLzwei wanted to broadcast a documentary with him and his wife Laura Müller. But the return failed. There was a lot of headwind on social networks and media – especially since Michael Wendler did not specifically distance himself from his statements during the corona pandemic and RTLzwei also did not announce a retrospective of the events.
After the criticism, the broadcaster decided to bury the project with the Wendlers. The 50-year-old then fled into the victim role, speaking on Twitter that he and his “pregnant wife” only wished for the “worst of all”. “What have I done so badly?” he asked, speaking of mistakes on both sides and wishing for a discussion. But then it became quiet again, only on the erotic platform “OnlyFans” did Laura Müller and her husband diligently.
Now Michael Wendler tries again. He announced a new studio album on his Facebook profile. But he doesn’t just want to release new music, he also wants to get back on stage: “The final plans for my concert tour in 2024 are almost complete. Tickets start before Christmas 2023.”
In the post, Wendler speaks of the “return of the King” and writes, “Nothing can stop what is to come.” However, the question is whether he will succeed in his plans this time – after all, nothing has changed since the canceled documentary.
If you scroll through his Twitter profile, you will see several posts suggesting that he has by no means backed away from his past statements. Most recently, he supported corona critic Professor Dr. Bhakdi and spoke of “inhumane corona policies” and an “incomprehensible interference with freedom of expression”, for the sole purpose of “preventing views of political madness and facilitating undisturbed stupidity”.
