Regional grants can last for a maximum of one year, but are maintained by the operator
The Galician operator R, integrated into the telecommunications group MásMóvil, has decided to keep and extend indefinitely the internet social bonus or digital bonus granted by the Xunta. It is an aid of 240 euros per year (twenty euros per month) that the regional administration grants to those users who prove that they are beneficiaries of risga or minimum living income (IMV), and which they can receive only for one year. But the company announced that recipients will keep the subsidy indefinitely thanks to the Internet Commitment program.
In this way, R points out that disadvantaged families will have access to a symmetrical connection of 300 megabytes in their homes and high-performance Wi-Fi 6 at a reduced price of 14 euros with no time limit. He adds that for the Ra online obligation contract and the extension of the discount for an indefinite period, it is necessary to have a digital voucher from Xunta, Risga or IMV in Galicia. The company clarifies that customers of Ra can also independently contract an internet obligation and take advantage of a discount of 20 euros per month for an indefinite period as long as the product they have already contracted with R is at a level equal to or lower than that of the internet obligation.
