Women up to 20 years old from Panama strive to fulfill their dream

Panama’s Under-20 Women’s National Team hopes to fulfill their dream of punching their way to the World Cup when they see action in the CONCACAF qualifiers to be played in Curaçao from April 14-24.

“We know it’s a very important tournament for us and I think we have a great commitment to the country. The girls left us with good feelings in the last Uncaf tournament. The team prepared for this in the best way and I want to start adding three”, commented Raiza Gutiérrez , coach of the Panamanian team.

In the qualifiers, Panama was placed in Group B, together with the national teams of Haiti, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Martin and the Bahamas.

The Panamanian team has been training on the field of “Cascarita” Tapia for the past few days and wants to take the first step, which is the passage to the qualification stage.

Let’s remember that the Concacaf qualifying match will be played in three different countries: the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Curaçao.

The tournament is divided into six groups of five teams each.

First, the round-robin will take place, with the six winners from each group advancing to the final stage of the 2023 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship, joining the two top-ranked nations from the region: the United States and Mexico. .

This final stage will take place from May 24 to June 3, 2023 in the Dominican Republic and will award three spots at the next FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
