Athletes return to the Rommel track

This Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16, the National Senior and U-20 Athletics Championships will be held at the Rommel Fernández Stadium, where athletes from different provinces of the country will meet in search of their best brands.

The event will also serve as a warm-up for the athletes who will represent Panama at the next Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in El Salvador.

A group of athletes who trained at altitude under the guidance of the Cuban Alexis Roque recently returned from Paipa Colombia.

Among the athletes who trained in Colombian countries was Chamar Chambers, the current South American champion in the 800 meter race and the Central American and national record holder at that distance.

They also traveled with coach Roque, runners Didier Rodríguez, who competes in the flat modality of 3000 and 1500 meters, and Mario Galvéza.

Others who will see action at the Rommel Fernández track this weekend include Suyeris Guerra, the Central American 5.00m champion, and José Euribiades Cedeño, who will compete at the same distance.
