Alfonso Rueda confirms that the tribute presupposes a “very clear violation” of Galicia’s financial autonomy

Today the Xunta agreed to appeal constitutional Court Call temporary joint tax on large fortunes approved by the central government.

President of the regional executive authority, Alfonso Ruedahe pointed out that the tax, regulated by Law 38/2022 of December 27, represents “very clear violation” financial autonomy of Galicia.

Rueda reminded the community that the community has “full authority” to legislate on the matter, and the state law means “nullifying and deactivating” the Xunta’s ability to introduce bonuses or other changes, so he considered it “direct attack” to fiscal autonomy.

This is the main argument of the appeal, he explained, which is based on the report he issued Advisory Council of Galicia.
