Three accused of extortion by Tina Kandelaki and her husband plead guilty and apologize 05/26/2023, 19:50

The big blackmail story started two years ago. After that, Evgeny Moskvin, Alexey Slobodenyuk and Vladislav Malushenko acquired two channels in Telegram: Project Scanner and Riddle. They placed compromising evidence on star people on these sites, and then approached them with demands to pay large sums of money to remove this discrediting information.

Vasily Brovko, Director of Special Tasks of the Rostec State Corporation, and his wife Tina Kandelaki were among these famous people. The husband of the TV presenter contacted the representatives of the channels and demanded the removal of the posts. However, the businessman was assured that the information would be deleted only if 280,000 rubles were paid.

At the same time, the blackmailers threatened that otherwise new compromising evidence would be published. Brovko initially agreed to the terms, but the publications continued. He then turned to the law enforcement authorities: criminal proceedings were initiated.

The defendant asked Tina Kandelaki and her husband for forgiveness in court today. “I fully admit my guilt, I regret my act and I want to ask for the forgiveness of Vasily Yurievich and his wife. When passing the sentence, I ask you to take into account my guilty plea,” TASS quoted Yevgeny Moskvin as saying.

Another defendant, Vladislav Malushenko, said that during the investigation, the TV personality’s husband learned about the defendants’ repentance and verbally forgave them. The public prosecutor insists on eight years in prison for each of the three defendants. The final verdict will be announced on May 29.

Tina Kandelaki recently defended Elena Blinovská. The host of web marathons has been accused of tax evasion.
