The most recent high-profile case is the death of a blogger and student of IM Sechenov Medical University Anna Kolyada and her friend, Sbermarket founder Dmitry Zhulin, from a drip with the drug Laennec.

The couple has been “dripping” for several months (there is an opinion that the medicine strengthens the immune system and has a rejuvenating effect), but this time Anna diluted the medicine in advance – it stood in a plastic container for three days and only then was it used. As a result, they both ended up in the toxicological intensive care unit: Anna died, and Dmitry managed to get out. According to doctors, such fatal consequences could have occurred due to the fact that the protein in the preparation left for three days coagulated and an infection appeared there, which led to the development of a toxic-allergic reaction and blood poisoning.

Many on the net wondered how a fifth-year medical student could not be aware of such danger and risk.

Another closely watched case where, it seems, the participants should have foreseen the consequences of their act, but unfortunately everything turned out differently.

Blogger and pharmacist Ekaterina Didenko became famous across the country under tragic circumstances. In 2020, she celebrated her 29th birthday in the spa complex – the party was held on a large scale, the blogger shot videos and photos and immediately shared them with subscribers. At one point, 25 kg of dry ice was thrown into the pool for spectacular shots. After the reaction with the water, a “fog” floated over the pool, into which some vacationers decided to jump. As a result, three people died from chemical burns and suffocation, including Didenko’s husband.

The fact is that when interacting with water, dry ice releases poisonous carbon dioxide – it was they who inhaled the victims. How Didenko, who, according to her, graduated from the Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute, could not know about this is still unknown. However, the tragic story did not interfere with the blogging success of the woman – on the contrary, Didenko became the star of the talk show and gained new subscribers.

As a result of the pursuit of likes, the American Monaliza Perez, who accidentally killed her boyfriend Pedro Ruiz in 2017 while filming a video, became a widow. The girl at that time was only 19 years old and her boyfriend was 22 years old. They already had one child and at the time of the tragic events, Monalisa was pregnant again.

To diversify the content on their channel, the couple decided to make the “most dangerous video”, as they announced. The girl was supposed to shoot the guy through a thick book. Both were sure that the bullet would get stuck there, but in reality everything turned out differently – Pedro was mortally wounded in the chest and died, despite the efforts of doctors to save him. By the way, the idea of ​​​​a difficult challenge belonged to a friend of the girl. Monalisa herself was eventually found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 180 days in jail and ten years of probation.

In this case, it was not the blogger himself who paid for the crazy ideas, but his child, which makes the situation even worse. Blogger-raw foodist Maxim Lyuty not only regularly fed on the energy of the sun, but also hastened to get his newborn child used to it. The result was predictable: the month-old baby died of exhaustion.

The death of bloggers due to selfies seems to be commonplace now – unfortunately, the desire for spectacular shots in dangerous places has already led many to their graves. Such a fate met Sophia Chung from China in 2021. Extreme selfies were her thing – almost the girl’s entire blog was devoted to just such photos. Subscribers actively liked bold photos, but one day luck turned away from Sophie. While taking a photo by a waterfall in Hong Kong’s Ha Pak Lai Nature Park, Chung lost her balance and fell into the abyss.
