The most discussed moment of the Valentino show at Paris Fashion Week was the incident with the 56-year-old American model. Kristen McMenamy, wearing uncomfortable high-heeled shoes, lost her balance and collapsed on the catwalk. She got up, took her shoes and walked barefoot.
The video of the model’s fall has gone viral. After the show, Kristen addressed her embarrassment. “Thanks to Pierpaolo Piccioli and the house of Valentino. I screwed up,” McMenamy wrote on her personal blog.
Many users sympathized with the model. Bloggers also expressed criticism of the fashion house. “Last September in Paris, Valentino had the same problem with models falling because of their shoes”, “Last time at the Valentino show, I stood in front of the exit and saw many models returning with shoes in their hands”, ” Why brands do not consider models as people ? I have no other explanation. Let’s cancel Valentino – they release models from season to season. They have uncomfortable shoes,” followers wrote.

To justify this incident, the Italian fashion house issued an official statement. He put all the blame for what happened on McMenamy herself.
“The House of Valentino cares about the safety and well-being of the talented men and women hired to walk the catwalks. Models were offered alternative types of shoes to ensure comfort during the show,” the New York Post quoted the fashion designer as saying.

Victoria’s Secret model Ming Xi also fell on the runway. “It was one of the hardest moments of my career,” she admitted. From that moment on, her life changed dramatically.
