However, not everyone liked the artist’s work. Many were surprised by the “completely dead eyes” of the Duchess of Cambridge in this canvas. “Some rotten feeling”, “Double impression, but the master clearly did not flatter Kate”, “Gloomy picture, somehow it’s unpleasant,” discussed bloggers on the site.
Now this portrait has been removed from the gallery and moved to the archive. This was the only painting of the future queen in the museum. Catherine patronizes a gallery in Trafalgar Square: it is hard to imagine her being unaware of such changes to her portrait.

“It is simply inconceivable that Kate’s image was removed without her consent. It would be extremely rude,” the Daily Mail quoted a gallery insider as saying. Most likely, in the end, Catherine herself was not enthusiastic about the work of the artist and did not want everyone to look at this picture.
