Prince Harry and three other people have filed a lawsuit against the publisher of The Mirror. They accused him of hacking into personal cell phones. The process dragged on for seven weeks – and now it is complete.
The king’s younger son demanded compensation, according to official documents. He insisted on payment of 330 thousand pounds sterling for 33 articles in the newspaper, the materials of which, in his opinion, were obtained illegally. The Duke of Sussex also said he should be paid £15,000 every year for 16 years. The prince believes his voicemail and personal phone have been tapped all along.

The publisher’s lawyer was amused by such demands. “The 16-year period started in 1996 when, by his own account, Harry didn’t have a mobile phone – so that’s not the best starting point,” Andrew Green was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. As a result, the final amount was 570 thousand pounds, which in terms of rubles exceeds 58 million.
The newspaper denies that it has tapped the prince’s phone, although they have made no secret of the fact that they once managed to gain access to his personal information. Representatives of the publication claim that they are ready to pay the son of the British king 500 pounds for this episode. The judge said he would make a decision in due time. He warned that it won’t happen soon because he has a lot of work to do.

The court ruled in the case of not only Prince Harry, but also actor Michael Turner, who played Kevin Webster in Coronation Street, actress Nikki Sanderson and comedian Paul Whitehouse’s ex-wife Fiona Whiteman.
Recently, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were at the center of a major scandal. The pair ended their million-dollar deal with Spotify. The director of the company called them fraudsters.
