Fiat also competes with Biro: this is the Topolino

After the Citroën Ami and the Opel Rocks-e, Fiat is also competing with the Biro. This Topolino is Fiat’s new city car.

The Citroën Ami, the Opel Rocks-e and the Fiat Topolino are the same cars under the skin. Although the Italians haven’t announced anything about the powertrain yet, we can already guess the specs. After all, the other two models have an 8.2 hp electric motor with a 5.5 kWh battery. This takes you about 75 kilometers to the city.

With Topolino, Fiat competes with Biro

Just like with a ballpoint pen, you can drive the Fiat Topolino from the age of 16 with a moped license. The maximum speed is therefore only 45 kilometers per hour.

A ballpoint pen is much less fun

But why should you choose the Fiat Topolino over a Biro? First of all the price. The cheapest ballpoint pen costs just under 15 grand. Although the price of the Topolino isn’t known yet, it won’t be much more expensive or cheaper than the Opel Rocks-e. The car costs just under 8.5 grand. On paper, the Biro is 25 kilometers further than the Opel.

But with the Opel Rocks-e, Citroën Ami and Fiat Topolino you get a much nicer design than a Biro. Although tastes differ, of course, the Biro is just a boring car compared to the Topolino. With the roll-top and round headlights, it’s sort of a Mini-500 – more like the brand’s old models.

In fact, the small competitor Biro owes its name to the old Fiat Topolino, which was built between 1936 and 1955. This model was the predecessor of the legendary 500.

Will the Fiat Topolino sell?

Whether the Topolino will also be bought by the Dutch city dweller is still open. The Ami is not a real bestseller with us. However, in cities like Paris, you see these types of cars more often. Will Topolino oust Biro from the Randstad throne in the Netherlands?
