Alfa Romeo fan builds five-door Brera

The Alfa Romeo Brera is a “hate it or love it” caliber car. But what if you like the design of the Brera but don’t like the impractical 3-door variant. Then just build a five-door yourself.

Connoisseurs know that the Brera was never delivered with five doors. In addition to the coupe, there was a Spider with two doors.

An Alfa Romeo fan converted a standard Brera and a 159 into a 5-door Brera. The South African technician began to disassemble the Brera. The rear of the coupé was actually simply placed on top of the 159. While this sounds easy, it is quite a chore. After all the welding and putty work, the car was painted red. A non-expert would not even notice that a lot of tinkering was done on this car, although the rear window is still missing.

Although the conversion is a fine job of welding and tinkering, the roofline isn’t quite right. The C-pillar looks a bit crazy compared to a regular Alfa Romeo Brera, but that could also be due to the lack of a spoiler.

The Alfa Romeo 159 powertrain was retained. In this case, it’s a 3.2-liter V6 that produces 260 hp and 322 Nm of torque. The power is distributed to all four wheels.

The builder of this particular five-door Brera is Brendon Scholtz. Click here to go to his Instagram account.
