BMW shows brand new Z4 coupe, but there’s a catch

The heart of some enthusiasts will beat faster when they see this brand new BMW Z4 Coupé. After all, the design is an evolution of the legendary body shape. However, there is a catch in this case.

We have to disappoint you. This car is a concept model from the Bavarian manufacturer that will not go into production. It’s unique.

The car is basically a BMW Z4, which you know as a convertible. However, this specimen has a shooting brake-like roofline. The car is completely handcrafted.

Under the very long hood hides a 3.0-liter straight-six, which is known from the M40i. This engine delivers 335 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Gears are selected via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

And this despite the fact that the coupé has a higher roof line than the BMW Z4 – with the roof closed. There is no second row of seats. However, the luggage compartment is larger than in the convertible. The only enthusiast who comes into possession of this car will receive bags specially designed for this concept.

The pockets perfectly match the interior. The brown leather comes from Poltrona Frau, an Italian manufacturer. Although the leather looks chic, the rest of the interior is not unfamiliar. In fact, it’s almost identical to that of a regular BMW Z4.

So if you want a BMW Z4 as a coupe yourself, you have to buy an E85 as an occasion. You won’t find a Z4 with a shooting brake-like rear end like this one-off.
