Should Tesla be afraid of this BYD seal?

Should Tesla be afraid of this BYD seal?

No, BYD is not just another Chinese car brand. Just like these other newcomers, it’ll still have to work hard on brand awareness among the general public, but if you say the Build Your Dreams name out loud enough times, it’ll probably stick better than MG or Ayways. This time BYD shows the seal!

Car connoisseurs know that we will be presenting the fourth and fifth models on the Dutch market within a year. You know that in Europe we are always one step behind the domestic market in China because BYD has existed there for a while.

BYD Seal, a new electric sedan in the Netherlands

Back to modern-day Spain for the debut of the BYD seal. It has to be a sporty, dynamic sedan in the D segment, says BYD. And it has to live up to this claim with a very stiff platform that draws its torsional strength from, among other things, the integrated cell-to-body battery pack, which is stiff with its aluminum honeycomb structure and allows the pack to be installed lower.

At Tesla, don’t be shocked by the specs

The battery capacity of 82 kWh does not deter you from Tesla and the maximum charging speed of 150 kW does not break any records either. The BYD Seal is either rear-wheel drive and then has 313 hp or is all-wheel drive with 530 hp distributed over the front and rear axles. BYD pride themselves on their torque vectoring system called ITAC, which allows them to proactively better control the torque distribution of the wheels by looking ahead of all systems.

The Build Your Dreams seal felt very dynamic, as promised. The space available in front and behind is good and the equipment looks rich again. If the price and therefore the value for money are just as good as the BYD Atto 3, the Seal can also qualify as a podium candidate.
