The Lucid Air is a promising competitor for the Tesla Model S. After the expensive Dream Edition, the price of the cheaper Grand Touring is now also known. Is this close to the Model S?
Autovisie has already dived into the Lucid Air’s price list. We found out that the Dream Edition of the Air costs 222,000 euros. Fortunately, this proud price is now falling slightly.
That’s what the Lucid Air Grand Touring costs in the Netherlands
Although slightly, the Lucid Air Grand Touring is about 60 grand cheaper than the Dream Edition. With the money that you then have – hypothetically – you can buy a Toyota GR86.

Strictly speaking, the Lucid Air Grand Touring starts at 165,000 euros. This makes the electric car a lot more expensive than the Tesla Model S.
But why is the Lucid Air Grand Touring so much more affordable than the Dream Edition? Instead of the 1,100 hp of the Dream Edition, you’ve got 819 hp under your right foot – way more than enough. With a full charge you can drive between 783 and 839 kilometers according to WLTP. With a range of 900 kilometers, the Dream Edition hardly gets any further.
A true Tesla Model S competitor is yet to come
Don’t think that the Lucid Air Grand Touring is the cheapest and has to compete on price with the Tesla Model S, there are two other cheaper versions of the Air on the market. These versions are called Air Touring and Pure. The entry-level model is the Pure. This has 480 hp and a range of still 653 km. However, this is a range according to the American EPA cycle, which is somewhat stricter than the European WLTP. How high the price of the entry-level model will be is still unclear.
