New express bus more than transportation

New express bus more than transportation

A faster GTI, sorry, GTX version will be available soon from Kuschelbus ID.Buzz. In addition to the express bus, an extended version is also used. Volkswagen CEO Kai Gruenitz made this announcement at the “Car of the Year” closing event, where the ID.Buzz is one of the seven finalists. The express bus will have the dual engine design already known from other ID models and will have an output of 335 hp. In addition, they promise a special interior at Volkswagen and an even more eye-catching appearance with a few extras.

How much faster?

Express bus ID.Buzz back

We don’t yet know how many kilometers will be added to the 145 km/h top speed of the normal ID.Buzz. But don’t expect miracles from an electric vehicle like this. We rely on 180 km/h, because the other GTX are that fast too. In addition, as an EV, this superbus must of course use its energy as sparingly as possible in order to get as far as possible. But it is clear that this GTX is more emotion than rational transport.

Also seven-seaters and campers

In addition to the GTX, Volkswagen is also thinking about a “normal” ID. Buzz with all-wheel drive to the program. Another definitely coming addition is the ID.Buzz, the already announced enhanced version. This will be 25 centimeters longer and available both as a cargo and as a passenger car. The latter adds even more substance to this van revival, as it comes with a third row of seats and can carry seven people. As in the heyday of people carriers with the Renault Espace and the Chrysler Voyager as protagonists, the ID. Buzz are also available with captain’s chairs or swivel front seats. Also mentioned, but now really confirmed, is the arrival of a camper version in the style of the popular California model. It’s a hard work in progress now, the CEO said, and he’s expected to make an appearance in 2025.

Express bus idea not new

The idea for a faster sporty version of an MPV is not new. The MPV pioneer Renault once showed this very spectacularly with a Formula 1 version of the Espace, which unfortunately was never approved for road use. The people’s car manufacturer Opel builds an express bus that is easy to buy and that is really much sportier and faster: the Zafira OPC.
