Dive into the price list: the Ferrari Purosangue

Ferrari is also betting on the SUV, although it differs somewhat from most of its direct competitors. We dive into the price list and put one together.

Despite the fact that Ferrari claimed not to be part of the SUV hype at the beginning, the brand started developing an SUV model, the Ferrari Purosangue, a few years ago. Ultimately, there is simply a lot to be done with it at the moment. Competitor Lamborghini even doubled its production with the Urus. But Ferrari “makes” this SUV in its own way.

Thoroughbred Ferrari

Although the Ferrari Purosangue is quite high for a Ferrari, it is very low for an SUV. He is only 1.59 meters tall. Ferrari therefore emphatically sees the car less as an SUV and more as a full-fledged four-seater sports car. The brand is so confident that the Purosangue is a “true Ferrari” that it has given it that name. “Purosangue” means “thoroughbred”.

Performance Ferrari Purosangue

There is nothing wrong with the performance of the Ferrari Purosangue either. Under the hood is a 6.5-liter V12 with an output of 725 hp and a torque of 716 Nm. The 100 km/h is reached in 3.3 seconds and the top speed is “more than 310 km/h”. It is shifted with an eight-speed automatic, all four wheels are driven. By the way, at higher speeds the car switches to rear-wheel drive.

Ferrari Purosangue Prize

The Ferrari Purosangue is said to cost more than four tons in the Netherlands. The Italian price is already 390,000 euros and in the Netherlands bpm is added. The final Dutch price is not yet known, as the final CO2 calculation that determines the bpm level is not yet available. But yeah, if you have to ask the price…

Buy? bad luck or wait

If you can raise that amount and are willing to pay for the Ferrari, then the question is still whether you can buy a Purosangue. Production is limited to “20% of all Ferraris built over the life cycle of the Purosangue”. Beautiful and complicated. In short: Ferrari already has significantly more demand than production places, so the car will initially only go to “loyal Ferrari customers”.

Standard equipment Ferrari Purosange

Just assume that everything is there and comes as standard with the Ferrari Purosange. You only get a full infotainment system (with a dedicated touchscreen for the passenger) and the usual luxuries like a heated steering wheel. Also standard is a security system that automatically sends a notification to Ferrari if the car is opened or started without the key card nearby. Also useful: a system that slightly raises the front of the car, for example for thresholds. Things like adaptive headlights, surround view, run-flat tires and additional anti-theft protection are optional.

Two configurators

In addition, the list of options consists mainly of the visual decoration of the car. Ferrari even has two configurators for this: one with a 360-degree image and one with photorealistic still images. For the sake of simplicity, we now choose the latter, but again, the car comes into its own here.

Body colors Ferrari Purosange

Ferrari supplies so many body colors for the Purosange that we make it our own mug. There are no fewer than 22 body colors to choose from. First there are the “special” body colors of cream white and black. Then come the non-metallic colors with white and black again, but also a kind of dark grey-brown, an almost black dark blue, two shades of red and yellow and orange. There are also metallic colors with black, two shades of blue and various shades of grey. The final category is “Historical Colors” with Rosso Dino (bright orange), Canna di Fucile (dark grey), Verde British, Blu Scozia and Blue Swaters. Actually, there isn’t a single color that doesn’t look good on the car, but such a sports car can of course attract attention with a bright color. In the end we decide on Rosso Mugello.

Roof options and body elements

Then we come to the roof options: a ‘regular’ roof in body black, a gloss carbon fiber roof or a panoramic glass roof. We choose the latter. You also have the choice to replace the standard selected carbon fiber body elements (fender edges, bumper parts, mirror caps etc.) with high-gloss black elements. If so, we’ll find something nicer. The tailpipes are available in chrome, brushed or matt black. We think the latter is fine.

Wheels Ferrari Purosangue

There are basically two types of rims with a diameter of 22/23 inches front/rear. Relatively simple light-alloy wheels in a five-spoke design come as standard, and are optionally available in darker gray or with extra gloss. An alternative is a somewhat more elegant model in five-spoke light metal, optionally in two colors with a choice of matt black or glossy, very dark gray (actually also black) as the second color. We choose the latter option.

The calipers can come in metal color, black, dark blue, dark red and yellow. We think the latter option contrasts nicely with the red body color.

Interior decoration Ferrari Purosangue

You always get the same type of seats, but when it comes to upholstery, the choice is huge. First, choose the standard upholstery or the style upholstery. The former has nearly flat surfaces in a contrasting colour, while the Style gives you corrugated surfaces in the same colour. We like the standard seats better.

In terms of material and colour, Ferrari offers more choices than we can all cover here. For the base, you can choose between normal leather, semi-aniline or Alcantara. In addition to the eye-catching black, gray and brown tones, there is also a choice of upholstery in red, blue or even an almost yellow beige tone. We opt for the more subtle charcoal. Various interior parts are also available in visible carbon or high-gloss black. Now let’s leave the carbon fiber alone. We tick aluminum pedals, just like the floor mats with embroidered Purosangue lettering.

Then only the floor covering remains. Again, you have plenty of options to let yourself go, for example with a bright red or blue interior, but we’re sticking with muted anthracite to match the seat upholstery.

Build your own Ferrari Purosangue

This brings us to the end of the configuration. A price is not mentioned, it is only advised to contact the dealer. Can you please ask if you can buy one. Thinking about Purosangue or just dreaming? You can find the configurator at www.ferrari.com.
