Desperation action: Fisker Ocean now offered at an extremely low price

History repeats itself. Once again, Henrik Fisker’s dream – to have a successful car brand – seems to be falling apart. There have been reports for some time that the electric vehicle brand is in a tough spot, and this is now being confirmed by extreme discounts on the Fisker Ocean.

Earlier this month it was reported that Fisker was temporarily halting production. The company is urgently looking for a capital injection and has partnered with a major player in the automotive world. There were whispers in the hallways that it was Nissan. It doesn’t matter who exactly it was, because the party in question appears to have dropped out.

Extreme discount on the Fisker Ocean

In a desperate move, the EV brand is now offering huge discounts on the 2023 model year Fisker Ocean in the US. The entry-level model drops from $39,000 (around €36,000) to $25,000. That’s 23,100 euros. That’s even cheaper than the Citroën ë-C3.

Other versions also drop significantly in price. The top model was previously sold in the showroom for 61,500 US dollars (56,800 euros), but can now be sold for 37,500 US dollars (34,600 euros). In addition, according to the brand, some Fisker Ocean models also come with many expensive options.

Is this dirt-cheap electric vehicle worth buying?

It is not yet known whether the Dutch market will also receive such a discount campaign. The question, however, is whether you want to buy a car from a manufacturer that is already experiencing convulsions. If the brand goes under, it may be difficult to get updates or replacement parts.

So by buying the now dirt-cheap Fisker Ocean, you are taking a significant risk. At the same time the statement exists “High risk, high reward” not for nothing. If you take the risk and Fisker manages to survive this difficult period, then you (as an American) will have bought a lot of electric vehicles for your money.
