Lewis Hamilton does not want to think about his expiration date yet

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton will be talking about a new contract with the Mercedes Formula 1 team in the coming months. The Briton is convinced that his sell-by date has not yet passed.

Hamilton’s current contract expires at the end of next year but the 37-year-old Briton would happily continue at Mercedes. “We will talk about it and reach an agreement,” the driver said in interviews with European media today.

Lewis Hamilton wants his eighth world title

“I want to keep racing. i love what i do I’ve been doing this for thirty years and I don’t feel like I have to stop,” said the current number 6 in the World Cup table. After moving from McLaren, Hamilton has been driving for Mercedes with great success since 2013. The Brit won his eighth world title last year because Max Verstappen took it in the last race. After that, there were doubts whether the disappointed Hamilton would continue.

Hamilton has previously indicated that he would like to aim for his eighth world title again. “Because no driver has ever done it before, I want to try it. For me it will feel like my first world title because that’s how I go about it.” Hamilton and Michael Schumacher hold the record for seven world titles.

Max Verstappen world champion for the second time

The Formula 1 Grand Prix of Mexico is on the program this weekend. Max Verstappen is already sure of the world title. Hamilton doesn’t want to think too much about the much-discussed dissolution last year when Verstappen won the world title.

“I never lost my love for racing and the team. It was difficult that the outcome of a championship that so many people worked hard for was decided by a wrong decision,” he refers to the entire safety car saga in Abu Dhabi. “But I’m not one to give up easily. It seems years ago.”
