Bugatti confirms: W16 will be replaced by hybrid V16
Bugatti is saying goodbye to the W16, but will continue to supply a sixteen-cylinder engine for the next generation of hypercars. A hybrid V16 is the future of the French brand.
The W16 has been the brand’s showpiece for some time. The energy source was first used in the Veyron in 2005.

In earlier information, Bugatti had already announced that it was seeking a collaboration with the British engine manufacturer Cosworth for a new engine. The hybrid V16 reportedly has a displacement of 8.3 liters. There is still a lot of uncertainty about the power source we will see in the new hypercar. We’ll hear more from the brand in June.
