The new Suzuki Swift looks like its predecessor, but looks can be deceiving
Light, affordable and a bit sporty. The Suzuki Swift has always been a good choice in the B segment. Now the brand is showing the new seventh generation of the Swift.
A little more than 40 years ago, a Swift rolled off the assembly line in Japan for the first time. At that time the model still had the name Cultus. From the second generation onwards the name changed to Swift.
The new Suzuki Swift
And that Suzuki Swift has built a good name for itself. The car is reliable, economical and has good driving characteristics.
Under the hood of the new Swift is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 81 hp and 110 Nm of torque. The drive source is supported by an electric motor that produces 3 hp and 60 Nm. The drivetrain is somewhat more economical than its predecessor.
The Swift comes with a manual gearbox as standard, a CTV gearbox is also available. The model is basically a front-wheel drive car, but a Suzuki Swift with all-wheel drive is also available. With this AllGrip you always have a manual transmission. A Swift Sport has not yet been announced.
Price
The Suzuki Swift has a starting price of just over 21,000 euros. For this money you get the manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The most expensive version with all-wheel drive costs just under 29,000 euros. The new Swift will be available at dealers in the second quarter of 2024.
