If you want to drive an SUV, hatchback or sedan, you have a whole range of electric options to choose from. It is still difficult for convertible enthusiasts to find an electric car. However, there are already convertibles with a battery in the base.

One of the most famous electric convertibles is the Tesla Roadster, the brand’s very first car. A new roadster is not yet in production. According to reports, the model will have to wait a while and no longer appears to be a roadster.

Five electric convertibles

We look at what is possible if you want to buy a new electric convertible. You can order these cars (soon).

1. Fiat and Abarth 500e convertible

Both the Abarth and the Fiat 500e are available with a fabric top that can be electrically pushed back. Like Abarth, the electric convertible is a really nice car to drive, as Autovisie editor Dries van den Elzen shows in the video below.

The Fiat 500e Cabrio can be ordered from 32,990 euros. For the Abarth with a fabric top you pay at least 41,490 euros.

2. Mini electric convertible

With the electric version of the Mini Convertible you are definitely unique. Only 999 copies of the model will be built, 30 of which are intended for the Dutch market. The price is 62,990 euros.

At least two of the thirty are still for sale. Both a BMW dealer in Apeldoorn and Schiedam have a new example.

3. Carice TC2

You may have never heard of the Carise TC2. It is an electric convertible built in the Netherlands. The car weighs 590 kilograms, has a range of 200 kilometers (as standard range) and has a 54 hp electric motor.

4. MG Cyberster

MG is coming to the Netherlands this year with the Cyberster. It’s a real electric convertible that looks like a roadster. Thanks to the heavy 77 kWh battery, it won’t be a light-footed roadster, but more of a sporty GT. In the video below we tell you everything about the MG Cyberster.

5. Polestar 6

The MG Cyberster will have a significant lead over the Polestar 6. The electric convertible based on the Precept will come onto the market about two years later than the MG. The price of this car is also still unknown. The photo below shows the concept model.
