There are protesting farmers not only in the Netherlands. German farmers can also benefit from this. Today they blocked the road to the Volkswagen factory in Emden.
German farmers protest against the government’s plans. The biggest problem is that diesel is becoming increasingly expensive for agribusinesses, reports De Telegraaf. The farmers mainly set up roadblocks.
Volkswagen factory closed
The access road to the Volkswagen factory in Emden was also blocked by farmers. As a result, employees were unable to come to work and production came to a standstill, a spokesman said.
Due to the farmers’ blockades, there is no production, especially in the combustion engine department. The employees who build the electric cars still have a week of Christmas vacation. The production of these models will therefore not be delayed.
It is still unclear how serious the problems at Volkswagen are due to the closures. It’s not just the car brand that is affected by the protesting farmers. Traffic is severely restricted in many places in the country. Three-day protests have even been announced in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein.
