Dive into the price list: the Mercedes-Benz EQT

The once dynamic MPV segment is virtually extinct in Europe, at least when you look at new sales. Some brands are holding out bravely, sometimes because their MPV is essentially based on a commercial vehicle. The basis for the model already exists; additional windows and a back seat can only be installed with little effort. That’s why there will again be a passenger version of the Mercedes-Benz Vito. The type name of the model varies depending on the version. The simpler models, intended as compact vans for transporting people, are called Citan Tourers. The more luxurious, more privately oriented models are called the T-Class (fuel models) or Mercedes-Benz EQT (electric version). Only the latter comes to the Netherlands.

Technical data Mercedes-Benz EQT

At least currently, Mercedes-Benz only supplies one engine variant of the EQT. This is the Mercedes-Benz EQT 200, with a modest output of 90 kW (122 hp) but a considerable torque of 278 Nm. The 48 kWh battery (45 kWh of which can be used) is sufficient for a range of 278 km (WLTP). The EQT can accommodate up to seven people if desired, something you don’t often see in electric cars (except for huge SUVs). Depending on the seating arrangement, 551 to 1,979 liters of luggage fit in the rear. The towbar can carry 1,500 kg, which is anything but normal for an electric car.

Prices Mercedes-Benz EQT

The Mercedes-Benz EQT is available in three flavors: base model Advanced Plus, Premium and Premium Plus. When we click through to prices on the Mercedes-Benz website, we are redirected to Mercedes-Benz Vans. This means a starting price of 39,456 euros, 41,305 euros and 42,812 euros for these models. So these are the prices for gray license plates. In this case, only VAT is excluded, as BPM is not available for an electric car anyway. With a few clicks we can find the prices for the regular “yellow license plate” at the end of the configurator. If we don’t check any options yet, we come to a starting price of 47,753 euros, 49,979 euros and 51,803 euros respectively.

Standard equipment Mercedes-Benz EQT

The Advanced Plus base model equips the Mercedes-Benz EQT with, among other things, 16-inch alloy wheels, halogen headlights, rear privacy glass, leather steering wheel, 7-inch touchscreen for infotainment with smartphone integration via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay and WiFi function , automatic air conditioning and the basic safety and assistance systems. The premium version has, among other things, nicer 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a wireless smartphone charger and additional parking assistants (the car can partially park itself). Finally, Premium Plus offers, among other things, a 17-inch alloy wheel, a dashboard partially covered with imitation leather and navigation with live traffic information.

We opt for the premium version. It offers a little more and looks a little more luxurious than the base model, but still saves a bit over the top model.

Outdoor decoration

The standard body color of the Mercedes-Benz EQT is pure white on all models. Luckily, you can choose between dark grey, dark blue or bright red at no extra charge. If you pay 569 euros, you have even more choice: black, light gray, another shade of dark gray, another shade of dark blue, a kind of dark wine red and even yellow is possible. Let’s go crazy and pick the final color.

We may be able to exchange the standard rims of this version for the 17-inch rims of the Premium Plus version, but we will keep the 627 euros in our pockets. To be honest, we think the standard rims fit the car much better.

Interior decoration

As standard, you get a black and gray combination of faux leather and microfiber fabric. At no additional cost you can choose anything made of black faux leather but with contrast stitching. The stitching pattern on the seat and backrest also changes. We opt for the optional variant: made entirely of imitation leather.

Packages and individual options

Among the packages we can choose the navigation package (725 euros) and the winter package (622 euros). Or navigation with live traffic information and heated seats, steering wheel and windshield. We tick both. Then the individual options. We only tick one of these: the LED fog lights (201 euros).

Some highlights from the available options, which we did not choose: roof rack (335 euros), preparation for a trailer hitch (379 euros) and the trailer hitch itself (633 euros), an additional 2.3 kW Mode 2 charging cable (230 V) . , Phase 1, 8A) (267 euros), Keyless Go (446 euros) and the Navigation Plus package (836 euros for additional navigation services such as the weather forecast at the destination). You can replace the tailgate with doors like the order version at no additional cost.

Assemble the Mercedes-Benz EQT yourself

Ultimately, the Mercedes-Benz EQT we put together costs 43,422 euros with a gray license plate and 52,541 euros with a “yellow license plate”. For this you get a fairly complete and very practical family car. The average consumer may prefer an SUV model for this price, but it’s refreshing to see that there are brands that continue to offer MPVs.
