Electric cars are not the best sellers

Many car brands are betting on electric cars and believe that we will mainly drive electrically in the future. According to new car sales in 2023, not everyone is ready for an electric vehicle.

Figures from the Bovag and Rai associations show that the most popular powertrain is not electric. The best-selling car last year was a fully electric car.

The best-selling cars of 2023

The best-selling car of 2023 is the Tesla Model Y. The Volvo 37.1 percent of new cars are hybrids, 30.8 percent are fully electric, 30.4 percent are gasoline and only 1.1 percent have a diesel engine.

The number of registrations of electric cars last year was almost 7.5 percent higher than in 2022. Overall, fewer cars were sold. In 2023, 369,791 new cars will be registered, a decrease of 14 percent compared to the previous year.

As far as brands go, Volkswagen is still very popular. 9.5 percent of new cars sold are from German brands. Kia, Toyota, BMW and Skoda are also popular brands in our country.
