This spectacular racing Lancia is coming back! And you can buy it…

This is a Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo Group 5, a 420 hp silhouette racing car that had a successful track career from 1979 to 1982. And next year it will return as a customer car.

Italian company Kimera Automobili has now sold 37 units of its stunningly beautiful EVO37, a modern road variant of the Lancia 037, a Group B-era rally car.

Chassis number 001 – a dark green EVO37 with yellow headlights and bronze wheels – was purchased by a Dutch businessman and collector. After number 37, Kimera stops construction.

Now with all-wheel drive

This means the company can start work on two more cars. The first is the EVO38, which will be presented in three months: an EVO37, but not with rear-wheel drive, but with all-wheel drive.

Racing car with a Monte Carlo look

In more than six months, the Kimera K-39 will be added, a racing car with the look of the Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo Group 5. Kimera has already shown a scale model of it.

In the headline of this story, we optimistically said that you could buy the Kimera K-39. That’s technically true, but keep in mind that the EVO37 costs 488,000 euros excluding VAT and BPM, so this K-39 will be a little more expensive.

Lancia Beta Monte Carlo

The original Beta Montecarlo Turbo was loosely based on the Beta Montecarlo, but was largely built around a tubular frame. It was powered by a four-cylinder turbo engine and, depending on the engine and tuning, produced around 370 to 490 hp.
