This is what will happen to the price of gasoline in 2024

Gasoline is expensive in the Netherlands, even if we in Ukraine still pay less excise tax than before the war. What awaits us in 2024? Autovisie is looking forward to next year’s prices.

The price of fuel is, of course, unpredictable. After all, the value of a barrel of crude oil can fluctuate greatly. We know what the government’s policy will be on fuel prices.

The price of gasoline

As gasoline and other fuels became cheaper due to excise tax cuts, the government said excise taxes would one day return to their previous levels. The last excise tax increase would occur in 2024.

Last July, gasoline became 17 cents more expensive and from January 1, 2024 it is expected to rise by another 21 cents. While the average price for a liter of Euro95 E10 is 2,152 euros. You pay an average of 2,294 euros per liter for premium gasoline.

Please note that average prices per day vary. The prices mentioned are valid from November 15, 2023.

But what ultimately happens to the price of gasoline in 2024? In any case, from January 1st you will not pay an additional 21 cents per liter. Last September, the House of Representatives approved a VVD proposal not to make gasoline more expensive.

Gasoline, price, decline, 2024, more expensive

So gasoline will neither become more expensive nor cheaper next year as a result of an increase in excise taxes. Of course, the price may rise or fall for other reasons. However, it is not expected that fuel will suddenly become significantly cheaper. To reduce costs, you can drive more economically. This Google Maps setting will save you a lot of gas every year.
