GTI van? This Volkswagen Crafter is a hero

GTI bus? This Volkswagen Crafter is a hero

When you see a Volkswagen Crafter on the road, you know there’s a lot of work ahead of you. However, the practical bus can be much more than a commercial vehicle. With this GTI-like package, VW says he’s a hero.

The option package is called “Hero” and makes the Crafter cooler. Not under the skin, because all that remains is a normal crafter. This means that you are not allowed to enter the Nürburgring.

So it’s not a GTI, although the red accents in the grille suggest otherwise. In addition to the details, the Crafter also features side moldings, a rear spoiler, a front splitter and black Volkswagen logos. The bus also gets 17-inch wheels, a sun visor and animal-free leather seats with red stitching.

By the way, you don’t always have to opt for the full Hero package if you want to make your Volkswagen Crafter a little tougher than your competitor’s. The package is divided into five additional packages.

The price of the Hero Pack

You get the GTI lines in the Red Line package for 810 euros and the styling package including side moldings and spoilers costs 1,980 euros or 1,922 euros depending on the vehicle length.

Only the black 17-inch wheels cost 1,314 euros, the red stitching and the natural leather cost 1,287 euros. The sun visor is the cheapest part of the Hero package for the Volkswagen Crafter: 419 euros.

The prices mentioned are exclusive of VAT. After all, the average Volkswagen Crafter is purchased for business purposes.

The complete Hero package costs 5,762 euros without VAT. This means you can drive a Volkswagen Crafter, which is similar to a GTI version, for just under 40 grand, excluding VAT. A lot of money, but then you have a cool bus that stands out!
